Trouble Placing Parts in PCB Editor

I am having difficulty placing a particular part in PCB editor.  The footprint and padstacks are good.  In manual placement mode, I even see the part displayed.  However, when I click on the board to place the part, I get a Windows error tone and the part disappears without being placed.  This part was a standard library part.  Has anyone experienced this before?  Any thoughts?

Good point! Thank you for pointing out my oversight. It stated "Pins in part do not match pins in footprint, use Dev Check on part". That was not necessary, since I immediately recognized the issue. There are 3 N/C pins on the part that were not defined. Not sure why it didn't flag or leave out the part during import to PCB Layout (like with a missing footprint). I have always wondered why the default libraries contain so many parts that don't pass the default rules checks (duplicate pins, missing pins/pin numbers, etc.) Anyways, thanks again!
