STEP file size

What is the size limitation on a step file mechanical import?

Just got this error for the first time when tryingg to save an imported STEP model of a second board to my current board:

The facet file(.xml) for the STEP model "xxxxxxxx.stp" cannot be found or it's size is too big to be attached.

This is related to the facet file size and not the size of the STEP model. Have a look in the stepfacetfiles4map directory and checkout the size of the xml file. If I remember correctly the limit is 4MB zipped. You may need to raise an enhancement request with cadence or the channel partner.

    Steve,

The size of the xml file that did not work is 115MB

The size of the file that did work is 44MB

What I did was recreate the STEP model of the 3rd board with only a few components high lighted during the STEP model export.

    Many thanks.
