Update edited symbol in .olb library

Hello

1st I put a symbol from lib1.olb.

The location of pins were not adapted for my schematic, so I changed it (right-click on symbol --> "Edit Part").

Is there a technique to update edited symbol in library lib1.olb in order to use modified symbol in future projects?

Thanks in advance

Open the library you wish to copy to and then select symbol from the design cache and use right click copy, the select the library name and use right click paste - Simple really

    Indeed, quite simple. Thanks.

Nevertheless doing these manipulations I've met a problem - the name of the symbol in design cash didn't match the original name, so I should search a little to find correct symbol.

Another problem that I met earlier - during creating the original symbol from "Model Editor" (Export to Capture Part Library) the property "PSpice Template" remained empty, so I should fill it manually. Probably it was occasional error, normally this property is correctly filled by "Model Editor" translator, isn't it ?

Another question, if you permit: is there a possibility to export from "Model Editor" to capture .olb library only one newly created symbol ? From my actual experience I can state, when I proceed with Export to Capture Part Library, all the models in .lib are exported into .olb, and override already existed symbols, ones of them probably intentionally edited.

    Regards

When you "edit part" in a schematic the part name is adjusted by _X where X is the next number. You'll also notice that instead of it being located from a library it's now located as part of the filename.dsn. The PSpice Template should remain.... From the Model Editor export - yes that's what it does so if you have duplicates maybe setup a "dummy" library and export all the symbols then using copy / paste move the ones you want to the library of choice.

Yes, there were some sort of suffix ... I don't remember already ..., but what I retained is the name of symbol in cash (suffix aside) were much shorter than original.

Concerning .dsn, YES, it was exactly the case.

Ok for technique of single model symbol.

Probably you have an additional comment concerning my note on symbol name modification, otherwise thank you very much Steve.
