Absolute and Relative coordinates displayed together.

There is a way to display Absolute and Relative coordinates together in OrCAD PCB Designer Professional ?

In most cases when i move a symbol or other object, i need to know the absolute coordinates, but also the relative distance from origin of move. This is much important, is a real need.

In the past I have used Castar, Altium, Pads, but all these CAD, they visualize together the absolute and relative coordinates as defaults. Besides they allow to reset the relative coordinate in a select point in the pcb, and therefore to know the relative move from that point.

How must I do for forwarding this enhancement to Cadence ?

Thanks for any answer to this question, Gianni.

P.S. The image below it is only a proposal.

You would need to contact Cadence Support to raise an enhancement request, either directly if you purchased directly from Cadence or through your Cadence Channel Partner. The command aliases of "x" for absolute placement and "ix" and "iy" for incremental placement are provided for "exact" placement, these would be a lot more reliable than using the co-ordinate values.

Hi oldmouldy, thanks for your reply. I have forwarded this request to Value Added Reseller in my country. The "ix" and "iy" are very good but when you know the exact increment. But when i don't have an exact value, i must see or evaluate what is the better increment available. For example, during the placement I must be able to see what the best distance is among them of the components. If the Relative coordinates are displayed simultaneously to Absolute coordinates i know immediately what is the best distance (relative) to place the symbols, without change their x or y absolute position. PCB Designer (Allegro) is the only CAD that doesn't visualize the relative coordinates together with those absolute. All competitors have this. I don't think that a great effort is needed for also having this functionality. Best Regards, Gianni.
