Does a DSN file contain everything required?

I sent my PCB editor a DSN Capture file for PCB routing.

He  says that it arrived with no components - he sees all wires but none of the components

All my components are from private libraries and do not use compoents from the standard libraries supplied with Capture .

I always assumed that a DSN file contains everything required to open it on a different system and do not remember I ever encountered such a problem.

My version is 16.2

Any advice?

The DSN file contains the Design Cache, that is the "travelling library" for the design and that is what the DSN file will be referencing to display the parts. If you have imported an old DOS schematic, SCH file, it is possible that there are no parts due to library import related issues but you wouldn't see any parts in your DSN version either. It could be possible that the DSN file has been corrupted but it would be unlikely to have a corrupted DSN file that "simply" was missing just the parts.

Thanks, I knew that the design cache contains everything and this is why I was puzzled. Anyhow, I entered the file again, saved it and sent it again - this time it came through OK.
