How to place heterogeneous parts in two same hierarchy bolcks(occurrence)?

Hi there!

We met a problem in place and annotate heterogeneous parts in hierarchy blocks.

An IC contains dual amplifiers, and it's  schematic symbol consists of two heterogeneous parts(A and B).We use ONE amplifier in a specific hierarchy Block (name is BLOCK_TEST)

There are two Occurrences of BLOCK_TESTs in our project, so one IC is just enough. We attempted to place part A in BLOCK_TEST0 and place part B in BLOCK_TEST1.

There seems to be paradox: two BLOCK_TESTs is exactly the same occurrences, while the part A and part B is heterogeneous symbol.

How to solve this confilct?

The example dsn and olb file is attached.

Thanks very much!

The "graphics" of the hierarchical block need to be consistent for it to be repeated, here the A and B sections do not have the same graphics so the annotation won't fly. If you change the part so that the A and B parts of the package have the same graphics and separate the Power pins, everything will work as expected.

    Hi oldmouldy!

I still found a small problem.

When I place  section A on BLOCK_TEST0,  I'ill see a same A on BLOCK_TEST1 as expected(reference  U?A), now if i annotate, there was error(ORCAP-1376: Cannot perform annotation of heterogeneous part 'U?A(Value TLC2272CD) at location (5.25, 2.65) on page BLOCK_TEST', part has not been uniquely grouped (using a common User Property with differing Values) or the device designation has not been chosen.)

But if I  MANUALLY modify the reference on BLOCK_TEST1 to "U?B", the the annotate works well.  is this right? I am wondering whether the cadence can directly do the fluent annotate  without user's manual operation. If there is hundreds of same blocks like this situation, the manual work will be labrious.

I tried to use a new user property "PkgBank" to specify the unique group of each ABC sections, but it seems effectless.

    Thanks a lot!
