How to assign schematics different variant for single component ?

How to set 2 properties for single components in a schematic so that we get two variants of BOM with different properties for a given component. for Ex. one version of Schematic with R1 as 100E and other version of schematic with R1 as 1K.

We are aware that we can extract BOM variants from .DSN files if the components are made DNP in one version and populated in other version.

Currently we create two .DSN files to extract the above said BOMs from the schematic. We would like to know if there are any options to extract two versions of BOM(different properties for a component) from single .DSN file.
