Vias

6 layer board,

default layers - Top, Inner2, Inner3-v, Inner4, Inner5-h, Bottom (Inner2 and Inner4 was Planes(Shields), but change them to Conductor type, i.e. routing should be possible on them.

Have 3 type of via - Via03_06, Via04_08, Via05_1, added to constraint manager. Via padstack is the same as PCB layer structure.

When I put via during routing, available planes are only Top, Inner3-v, Inner5-h and Bottom. Inner2 and Inner4 does not appear as possible layers.

Is it something in layer structure that I need to change, constraint manager or via padstacks? I try few things, but no change.

Thanks!

Check your VIA Padstack to make sure that DEFAULT_INTERNAL is defined. That way regardless of the layer name used the tools use the DEAFULT_INTERNAL layer padstack.

    Thanks Steve!

Actually DEFAULT_INTERNAL is defined, but those layers I missed just not appear in Via menu. May be I am missing sometihng else?

If needed layers appear in the Via menu, then probably I can choose them. I test via old Via padstacks and made also a new one, just with DEFAULT_INTERNAL, but no change - I just got 4 of 6 layers in Via menu.

I look also in Constraint manager - All 3 vias type I have appear to be available for all 6 layers. Cannot attache the picture, but I guess you understand what I mean.

When you use Add Connect (I'm assuming you are in Working Layer WL mode ?) In the Options menu click on Working Layers to see the allowable routing layers. To see all layers check All and Planes at the Top then enable all layers (This might be why you can't see them).
