SPICE Template not found

Hello All,

I am relatively new to Capture/PSPICE, but an old hand at LTSpice.   I have seen this problem when googling, I get error messages when I use library parts for opamps, regulators etc that No PSPICE Template found, ignore, and .........less than 2 connections at node.......

FYI, this is ORCAC Capture PSPICE 16.5, freshly installed by the IT department.

When I do simple DC for AC analysis without active components, no problem, only when I invoke active library models.  Help!

Thanks in advance.

I think you mean PSpice Template not found and that is because you are using active devices from the tools\Capture\library resources and not the tools\Capture\library\PSpice resources. If you are running in Lite Mode, without a license for PSpice, only devices from the EVAL.OLB are supported.

    OK,
I don’t think I am running in Lite mode (Lite has never been installed on this company PC). It is a fully licensed version, installed by my IT department.

    Interestingly, I don’t see the path: tools\Capture\library\Pspice - resources.
What I do see is: tools\capture\library\pspice - advants or modeled (no resources).

When loading this software, initially only PSpice was installed. Then later, Capture was installed. Not all the icons on the Programs menu appeared, some resided under the Administrator user. Could that be a problem here, that the correct “tools\Capture\library\Pspice resources” is not in my user access but under the Administrator access? This being a full blown legal version of Capture should run properly, I’m suspicious the install was not done 100% correct. Please point me in the right direction.
    Thanks in advance.

oldmouldy, a little more as I navigate thru Capture, if it makes a difference, I only see .OLB models under the two spice directories of adnants or modeled.

It sounds like the PSpice OLB files have been removed from your installation, I have 165 items, including the 2 directories, in my tools\Capture\library\pspice directory, there may have been a few files added since the 16.5 Base Release but at least 150 OLB files would be expected. From that I would suggest that a "clean" installation of "all products" be performed, remove the current product installation and clean the target directory, and then see if you get all the library resources.
