STEP parts

 Hi,

I have made several STEP files of my last pcb's. These were just parts laid over the pads on the pcb. But my latest pcb has a display that has standoffs on it along with a header to connect the display to the pcb. I tried using the "mechanical STEP" feature which sorta worked but was abit hard to do. I then thought of having our ProE engineer take the display STEP file and add on to it the standoffs/connector STEP files...making it one STEP file that I'd place that onto my pcb.

Whats the best way to handle this?

TIA!!

Can you make a special mounting hole with the standoff model on it ?

Not sure about the mounting hole idea. Been so busy with other projects haven't had time to try anything. I think attaching the standoffs/connector on the display STEP model would work...but that's more work for my mechanical guys. Also if we change the standoffs for different heights than the display STEP model will also have to be redone in ProE instead of me just changing the standoff on my end.
