Windows 10

I just upgraded my win 7 to win 10.  Both OrCad PCB Editor and OrCad capture are running extremely slow.  It take about 2 minutes for the software to come up, and then every command take at 30 seconds.  I have looked at task manager, the CPU usage goes up to about 99% and stays that high even after I close OrCad.  Any I dea why this is happening before I go back to win 7?  Appreciate your help.

i have been using win 10 with old laptop and it worked fine.

I have win10 professional, x64 and latest hotfix installed. i'm sure that there is no difference working b/w win 7 & win 10.

    it must work fine.

One problem that i have noticed that in win 10, you must run all program "Run as admin". it is must. set the property of shortcut to "Run as admin".

Now if still exist than try to reinstall it as "Run as admin" if not tried than.

If you upgraded without re-installing OrCad software then you should check if your Windows Firewall allows communication by SPB programs. When OrCad is running bring up task manager and verify the only a single instance of both cdsNameServer and cdsMsgServer are running. If you see multiple instances or no instances then Windows network firewall or a 3rd party firewall is blocking OrCad functionality. You can try doing a client install of OrCad software to fix this isssue.

There are multiple instances of cdsmsgserver and cdsnameserver running.  I disabled windows firewall, but still had the same problem.  I will try reinstalling, thanks for your help.

    Solved ...

I was able to solve this problem without reinstalling.

Rename the Capture.Ini (normally in Cadence\tools) to CaptureTmp.ini

    delete ComputerWorkSpace in registery:

      HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\OrCad

Reboot your computer and that should fix the problem.
