Multiple pins on top of each other

Hi,


Capture will allow two pins to be on top of each other and will connect both pins in the netlist. Is it generally acceptable to do such a thing? Thisis for the following component: http://www.vishay.com/docs/30099/wsl3637.pdf

    BTW the RF connection should be on 1 pin with the feed on other.

    IMHO, this is how I believe your circuit should look.

    Using that method, you are limiting the current path and thermal resistance capability. The same Kelvin connection could be represented in layout like below. I'll contact the manufacturer for their recommendations.

    You need a second trace connected to the GND pin to be parallel to the "RF" trace. These two traces go to the sense device pins. The second trace is the return path for the sense current, NOT the GND plane.

    The manufacturer describes how to wire the resistor in this document: http://www.vishay.com/docs/49581/_power_metal_strip_product_overview_vmn-pl0407-1502.pdf

    So technically the schematic symbol should be four pins as redwire stated. Were the E1 and E2 pins are used for differential kelvin connection. In my situation it is only a single ended connection so I2 and E2 should be connected to GND and I1 to RF and E1 to sense device. Or use simple 2 terminal device but this part meets my package requirements.
