Database setup, no parts shown in Place Database Part "Z"

Hi,

I have setup a "System DSN" (I've also tried "User DSN") database via windows (C:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe), which uses my Microsoft Access database file. Then I selected that DSN and generated a .dbc file from the "Options > CIS Configuration" and used that as my configuration file.

However, when I attempt to Place Database Part, I can see all the tables in my database but I cannot see the parts inside the tables. I have also tried using the default "C:\Cadence\SPB_16.6\tools\capture\samples\BENCHACC.DBC" database sample with the same result.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I suspect that the part are listed but you cannot see the section of the CIS Explorer window that they are in. Try a Maximize for the Capture CIS window for starters and then open the CIS Explorer window ("Z"), if that doesn't display the "details" section, go to View and uncheck Visibility to confirm the Window display is the issue. To correct, in this case, take a look at the Session Log and check where the INI file is being loaded from, then close Capture CIS, delete the INI file listed in the Session Log, then restart Capture CIS, open the schematic and "Z" and the window layout for CIS Explorer will have been reset and include the "details" section at the bottom.

Good call, exactly the problem. I had both the Command Window and Session Log open at the bottom preventing the visibility of the part table. Thanks!
