HI guys ,

I just had my first prototype  PCB manufactured , Single side board .

Everything seems fine however there was no silver plating at the bottom of the board to solder components .

Can anyone tell me how to add this in layout plus ?

    Ah ok.

The item you need is normally specified to the PCB/PWB manufacturer. Some people place this on the manufacturing drawing (where your drill holes are detailed) as a post process note.

This will be dependent on your operating environment etc. But will be something like ENIG coating over copper or HASL over copper.
This can also be submitted to the manufacturer with the order via a word document or other written notes. Some companies use a default standard that they supply to all the manufacturers with each order.

But to turn on the Paste Mask. Go to 'Manufacture' on your toolbar, then Artwork. Click the Film Control tab. If solderpaste_bot or something similar is not displayed here then copy the detail from solderpaste top into a new entry by right mouse click in the available films and select 'Add Manual', give the artwork a name then select 'PIN\SOLDERPASTE_BOTTOM' and 'VIA CLASS\SOLDERPASTE_BOTTOM' (if you need the via's solder coated. This will add a new film control so when you output the artworks again, the bottom solderpaste will be created.
