Batch processing DXF and PDF outputs

Is there an easy way to batch process the generation of DXF and PDF? I have a customer who wants a dxf and pdf of each layer. Doing them one by one is time consuming. Need something like the Gerber export but for DXF and PDF.

If you have a Publisher license you can do that with export PDF. I think for DXF you might come close to that with some creative filtering in the Layer conversion file area but I have not tried. Maybe a seperate layer conversion files for each layer may ease the pain.

Possibly you can run the following command line programs outside of allegro

        a2dxf

        pdf_out

pdf_out requires a Cadence PDF publisher license from Cadence

You can give both the command line option "-help" to see their arguments. Both programs require a config/mapping file.

The easiest way I found is to run them from allegro with the with the desire options selected in the UI and having the following env variable set:

        set wait_debug

When you run them,  Allegro will echo to its  command line the command line options used to spawn the batch program. The #Tnnnn at the end of the command line would be replaced with the Allegro design name if you run it from a OS command window.

Thanks for the replies. I spoke with Orcad and besides buying a license for PDF Publisher there is no easy way to batch output dxf's or pdf's. Seems like it would be an easy option to at least include the DXF format as a selection in the Export Gerber parameters.

I tried the command line suggestions, but when I use the -help argument I see the command window open, bunch of text goes by and then the window closes.

The PDF Publisher in Cadence would handle the PDF side of things and I just discovered that if you import the Gerbers into Valor and have the DXF out license you can output the artworks into seperate DXF files using the multiple files option in the parameters.
