I am new to Allegro PCB Designer 16.6

How to replace existing  foot print for Resistor 0805 to 0402 package

    If you change in the schematic, the netlist calls what footprint you want.

    Is it cannot be replaced from allegro PCB designer tool..?

    The netlist is calling a footprint. You could make any footprint have that name, but is it a good idea?

    Allegro is a netlist driven tool.  That means the netlist supplies the footprint information and there is not a normal override as that would break the rules..   As docb stated, correct the netlist and Allegro will correct the footprint.


    But...should you require a hammer there is an option.  Try Logic->Part Logic and follow the prompts.  Good luck!
