Default grid in symbol editor?

Olli

The symbol editor defaults to 0.635 and 2.54 grids. Fair enough. But I don't want that so I have to go and change them every time I make a new footprint.

Is there any way to change the default grid? I tried googling it but curiously nobody even asks about it..

Yes - take a look at this user guide which although is written for a board template, the principle is the same. Make a new Package Symbol and setup the defaults as required then save the dra file at a location and set the config path to look at this. When you want a new saymbol click on the Template button and this is used as the default. http://orcad.co.uk/images/PDF/User_Defined_Templates.pdf
