Allegro PCB editor Step files not visible?

Hi..

I had installed the orcad 16.6 with the hotfix of 046 update. So i am able to work on that clearly. But while i am mapping the components on Step mapping option, the corresponding step symbols in the mapping files are not get visibled.

I had checked the installed folder too. But the directory was empty.I don't know what mistake i had done.

I had tried to reinstall it. But i cant able to find it.

Thanks & regards.

You will need to provide some more details. For a start, hotfix 46 is over a year old, which might, or might not, be significant. So, which corresponding STEP symbols are not being shown? You need to have a library of STEP files to perform the mapping. Which "installed folder" was empty? The product installation must have "some" files in it or the product wouldn't run, which I think it does(?) What did you try to re-install The products? But then can't find what? That information might help to, at least, scope the issue.

Thank you for reply. While mapping the step files me face the problem. Let me clearly explain it.

After finishing PCB design, we need to check mechanically in the 3D format. For that we need to do ----->  OrCAD PCB editor---->Setup-----> Mapping step file. In that option i had check the available step files for mapping option. But no mechanical steps files are available.

Then i had checked the installed directory too. In that also,no files was present.

There are no STEP files provided by Cadence, even if there were STEP files provided, it would be "very likely" that these would not be the STEP files that you require. You can get STEP files from a variety of free, generally only registration is required, web resources; component manufacturer and distributor web sites; and most (all?) mechanical CAD tools.
