Ground planes at rigid/flex transition

When I define a flex zone it automatically generates a Route Keepout shape on the layers that do not exist in the flex stackup. But these keepouts are exactly aligned with the edge of the flex region, which allows the dynamic planes in the rigid sections to go right to the edge. I could manually move the edges of all the keepout shapes on the plane layers to match the keepin area but this requires a manual edit on every edge of every plane layer. Is there some way to make the keepouts match automatically?

can you z-copy on the flex zone and expand by x ammount?  it would expand the route keep out probably too far in the X-direction (in your pic), but it would extend it in the Y-direction too as required.

I am afraid to change the auto-generated shapes directly. My guess is they will get regenerated if there are any changes to the zones and the changes will be lost. Finally I just added small keepout shapes on the ends of the autogenerated shapes, and used Shape-Copy Shape to copy them to all the non-flex layers. You can't just copy to Trace Keepout-All because then you couldn't route traces through on the flex layers. Seems like a lot of monkey motion, probably there is an easy way to do it that I'm not seeing.

Maybe it would be faster to copy to Trace Keepout All and then just delete them with a window on the flex layers.

Note that there is no Zcopy anymore but Shape-Copy Shape does the same thing.

There is a new subclass under Rigid Flex called Transition_Zone. I would suggest that you draw this area on the board to cater for this area between the flexi and the rigid. You can include this area on an artwork film / detail drawing for the fabricator. You can then use the Copy Shape command to copy this to make the required keepout areas. That way if you need to adjust the zone areas the auto generated shapes won't affect this.

Just as an FYI the ZCopy command is still there if you a, use an Allegro PCB Designer License or b choose to use the legacy menu in and OrCAD based license.
