Moving Allegro and CIS Settings to New Version Installation

This is probably a simple question for most, but I've had difficulty finding an answer in the Help documents or the forum: How do I move my (numerous) custom settings for Allegro and Design Entry CIS from my existing 16.6 installation to a new 17.2 installation? I don't intend to keep the 16.6 installation, but I haven't removed it yet because I don't want to lose my settings. Help?

Look under your HOME folder (Type %HOME% into the address bar of Windows Explorer). In this folder will be a pcbenv (for Allegro) and cdssetup (for CIS). For CIS you should just need the capture.ini file. Allegro - will just use the pcbenv folder anyway and there is no different setup locations so your settings should just be there.

Awesome, as always steve. One follow-up question: if I had a new machine to install on and wanted to move my settings to it, would I just copy these folders to the new machine before installing Allegro, etc.?

Yes, just make sure that the Computer Environment Variable for HOME is set to the location (Control Panel - System - Advanced System Settings - Environment Variables), then copy the cdssetup and pcbenv folders across.
