Passing user defined properties from OrCAD Capture to OrCAD PCB Designer.

I want to pass a property I created in Capture to PCB Designer then output that property to a report. For example if I put the cost or my name as the symbol creator. I want this to show up in a report in PCB Designer. How do I do this?

    go to:
    C:\Cadence\SPB_16.6\tools\capture\allegro.cfg

    add your user property in allegro.cfg

    [ComponentDefinitionProps]
    ALT_SYMBOLS=YES
    .
    .
    .
    component_type=YES

    in Create Netlist > PCB Editor tab;
    check Allow User Defined Property

    export/import netlist as you would normally.

    in PCB Designer reports, you will find your user property under new/edit > Properties tab, locate your user property.

    Keep it crufty,
    Kevin
