Creating a footprint with surface mount pads on top and bottom layers

I have run into a snag with creating an edge connector footprint that has pads on both the top and bottom layers of the board.  I have defined an SMD padstack with only a BEGIN LAYER in the Pad Editor and placed the pins for the top layer.  However, I cannot figure out how to place pins that should be on the bottom.  I am using the PCB Editor and I'm trying to do this while creating a package symbol.  Thanks for your help!

    Try 2 different pad stacks.

One defined on top - Pin1

Other defined on bottom pin 2

    Repeat and rinse.

    Regards,

    Wild

I have attempted to do that, but I must be missing something simple.  In the Pad Editor, I cannot find an option for defining a padstack for only the bottom layer.  There are the BEGIN LAYER and END LAYER selections under the Design Layers tab, but when I try to only define the END LAYER, it automagically copies that information to the BEGIN LAYER.

Is there a selection that I missing somewhere?

Nevermind... I got it. It was just a misunderstanding about the data that padstack was actually outputting, versus what I was seeing when I played with the drop-down menu. Thanks for your help!

For a bottom only pad stack start with a though pad stack.
Define the END layer and then for the other layers use NULL.
    Add the needed mask layers

16.6 you then set the Single Layer Mode
17.2 you go back to the start page and select SMD
