DRC Errors - Line-to-shape spacing

Fras

Hello,

I have created my design but when i go to create the gerber artwork files, a DRC error appears on both top and bottom etches:

'DRC Error "line to shape spacing"

Constraint value: 0.127mm

Actual value : 0 mm'

I'm aware of constraint manager options and changing the constraint value to 0 mm but I would like to know if I am doing something inherently wrong? Do I have a real error or should I ignore it completely?

Cheers

If you think about this carefully - When you create your gerber, then read it back into PCB Editor you are simply reading the gerber data which is "dumb" data. Geber is basically a screendump of the artworks you have defined, so if you look at the tracks and pads, then are just copper circles and lines. There is no intelligence in this. As long as you don't see DRC's in the original board file you should be good to go because that's where all the intelligence (like netnames) is.
