Can't open older version of OrCAD after installing new LITE version

Hello,

I have just installed the new 17.2 LITE version of OrCAD. This works fine but when i want to create a design i tried going back to OrCAD 16.6 and i get the errors: 'The program can't start because cdn_sfl401as.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem' and  'The program can't start because cnlib.dll is missing from your computer.' from OrCAD Capture and PCB editor respectively.

I have seen forum posts about changing my directories but I'm not sure what to change them too?

    For anyone stuck with this problem, all that needs to be done is changing the PATH directories within your system. To do this:
    Control panel -> System and security -> System -> Advanced System settings -> Environment variables. Then you get to a screen similar to the one I posted. From this, (this is the hard part), you need to distinguish what differs from what you originaly had i.e. I changed Release 16.6 to SPB_16.6 in CDSROOT and it sorted it straight away.

    You can use Cadence Switch release utility and select the release you wish to set active or use currently. To do this select Cadence Switch Release from start menu - Select Release - (SPB 16.6) and say OK. It will make this release active and you shall be able to run all 16.6 tools without any hassle.

    Till 16.6 Allegro/OrCAD tools were dependent upon Windows system PATH settings. This limitation have been removed from SPB 17.2 release. So you can run 17.2 and future release without bothering for CDSROOT or PATH setting. You just navigate to appropriate Program >Start entry and run the product short cut to launch tool.
