Allegro 17.2 Component Placement Problem

I am new to Allegro.

I have a .MNL netlist generated from Capture CIS 17.2. On Import to Allegro 17.2, view log says netin imported successfully.

When I do Place > Component Manually > The list is complete with all the components in my schematics. However, I do not see any graphics in Quickview or any indication of presence of component.

When I check-mark a component and move the mouse over to the Allegro screen, there is no component visible.

In the command line log, it says > Cannot Load Symbol

How do I proceed from here ?

Did you setup correct path for your footprint?

    Setup>User Preferences>Path> Library>psmpath

    Setup>User Preferences>Path> Library>padpath

    Regards,

    Eugene

I get the component from Schematics listed as "Components by refdes"> "Component Name", I can click it and get a tick mark. How do I find the corresponding footprint and link it to the component so imported. I cannot see anything in Quickview. There is no option which says about finding and linking a footprint to this component. I have checked the path, both are showing up. I have also added my old footprint library file folder path, but no use. It does say "Cannot load symbol"

What can I do next ?

Check the contents of the netrev.lst for any errors that may have resulted from loading the netlist, quite likely, there will be some "not found", "pad mismatch" and so on that indicate that the netlist failed to import correctly.

Apologies, I just noticed that you have an MNL netlist, that is the wrong format, but, equally, you would not have any components listed in Place>Components Manually for the wrong format so, "something" about your description of your actions is unclear in trying to resolve the issue.

So, .MNL is an unsupported Allegro format for netlist import, though Capture can generate .MNL ? Kindly elaborate
