Is it possible? Reference designation tricks needed

Is it possible to setup the Reference designator assignment so to add prefixes?

I will have a multi-page design some of this pages will make a block of the system.  And I want that Resistors from lets say page 1 to 6 get a prefix on its reference designation like RA1, RA2. . . RA345, then from pages 7 to 10 RB1, RB2 . . .RB245 etc.  I don't want to use hierarchical design at the moment.

Is this possible?

Thanks!

Unfortunately I see no way within Capture to do this automatically, so you may have to use the manual process Dale laid out. I agree this would be a nice feature. The automated method most commonly used is to control the designator numbering, where sheet1 = 100’s, sheet2 = 200’s, etc… This method assumes no single sheet has over 100 of same reference type C, R, …. , and I don’t like that it forces 3 digit numbers on every component including the first 99. It’s hard enough to find locations for silkscreen refs as it is. However, if you choose to use this method: Tools > Annotate –then click the Refdes Control Required option.
