Mirroring Layers

Sagetech

Did a board for a customer who now wants to have a mirrored version of the board. It's not a complicated board, just a couple switches and connector,  several layers of copper areas though.

Thought I could export a dxf of each layer, mirror it in autocad and then import it back in and assign the nets to the copper areas. This sort of works, but the copper areas do not import. They are visible in the dxf.

Suggestions?

There is (afaik) no easy way in Allegro to mirror a design.
However, you can buy some extra 'tools' that can mirror things in the design itself, for example www.flowcad.eu/FloWare.htm

You can export the design as a module (mdd) then import and flip it.

Can not find the  "Create Module" command in PCB Editor (Pro)...........?

Is this only an Allegro feature?

OrCAD PCB Designer Professional and above supports modules through Placement Edit Application mode, Setup>Application Mode>Placement Edit, window components, hover over selection, right-click>Place Replicate Create, modify the Etch selection (if required) and right-click>Done, pick an origin, like 0,0 or Snap a Pick To, then specify a name for the module to save it.
