Orcad Library Builder Problem

Folks,

Have version 17.2 with ISR 17.20.026 installed on Windows 7 (64-bit).  Allegro working fine.  OrCad Library Builder seems to work except when I hit the "Allegro Export" button.  Everything is working as I can generate footprints from SnapEDA with their script files all day with no issues.  Allegro opens up and then just sits there "busy" in the RED status bar at the bottom of the Allegro application.  I finally have to exit everything and nothing was generated.  BTW, I do not even have the 3-D Step aspect engaged as I do not care about that.  This is simply a footprint ONLY generation and it fails.

Thoughts?

New Information:  Got the Library Builder to work, but only when (and I do not understand this) I go into the drop-down menu and open the "Change Editor" dialog, then it finishes the footprint generation and quickly and correctly.  It appears, for some reason, the scripting operation is getting hung up somewhere until I ask the Allegro application to do something else, like "Change Editor" or perhaps sometyhing else...I will check if any other menu item "unclogs" the footprint creation process.

I had a similar issue with PCB library expert "lite" some years ago. That tool createcd a .BAT-file which invoked the pad stack editor in a non-gui mode, created the pad stacks, then invoked allegro (or OrCAD PCB Editor) silently and then created the footprint. Somerwhere it hanged and I think I debugged the process by not letting the library expert run the .BAT-file. I edited it. Removed "@echo off", "cls" and inserted "pause" between the script commands and then ran the file in a shell to see where it hang. Honestly I do not remember what the fault was, but if the Cadence tool uses the same principle, try the above.

    (My 5 cents)
