Capture database linking

We recently replaced our Access database with a SQL database. We are reusing schematics that were linked to the old database. I now need to link them to the new dB because we are no longer supporting the old dB. 

Is there a quicker way to link all of the parts other than using Part Manager/Link database part for each individual part number?

    If you are using the same database data but migrated to SQL Server, you should be able to "simply" update the Part Status in Part Manager, since it's just the Part Number that is the key that joins. If your SQL database is "entirely different", you can select ranges of components in Part Manager and then Link Database Part. For example, sort the Part Manager display by left-clicking on the Property Name heading, then left-click the first Part in the range and shift+left-click the last Part in the range then Link Database Part to get to the "new" Part. If you have a table of "Old" vs "new" Part Numbers, you could use Tools>Export Properties to get an EXP file, tab delimited text, edit the Part Number field values in the file and then use Tools>Import Properties to get the schematic properties updated with the new Part Numbers, you might want to try this out on copies of the schematic before committing the changes.

    Think I have it figured out. The problem was that we have custom names for the part number property (MFGR_PN). What I did was copy the MFGR_PN column and paste it into Part_Number. Now it will link. Don't know why I didn't think of that before.
