Step mapping

Emmett

Hello,

I am trying to map a step model of an SMA from grabcad.

I clicked Setup, Step Mapping and get the Device/Package step mapping window.

I can see the name of and can visualize the step model, but not the symbol,

Now what?

Thanks,

Emmett

Try clearing the filter for available packages and see if that shows. If not, are you in a filename.dra? If so make sure you have a PLACE_BOUND_TOP shape. You can also click on the Overlay button and change the Views to see if this helps.

    Hi Steve,

    Thanks for the reply.

I did have the dra open at the time, but could not see the place bound.

    The next day, I could.

Maybe closing and re-opening the dra or app or the re-boot helped.

I think I got it done, but I still expected to see all the available symbols that have no step map associated.

Also for us newbies: you can't see the pads except in bottom view.

    Thanks,

    Emmett

So if you open a board file you will see a list of symbols that don't have step models. if you open a filename.dra you are only looking at that specific part so will only see the packages list s empty because you are working on just that part. I can see pads in top and bottom views so if you can't first make sure you are running the latest hotfix 16.6-2015 S108 and 17.2-2016 S039.
