Hi guys,

i have a new question. Is possible in capure cis to have a doube symbol?
For example about connector. For a one project schematic (core desine) i can to have more different versions and more configuration of PIN.

In the version "A" the PIN1 is a "IN" and in version "B" the PIN 1 is a OUT

When i swich versione i would like that simble of PIN 1 is different respect the simble the pin 2 for  highlighter input and output. How can I do this?

Thanks

Hi, if you want to have two different schematic symbol choices for one part you can add the "|" symbol (this is on \ key) as a separator between the two different schematic symbol names. IE. CAP0603|CAP0603_Ver2.

In CIS explorer you will now see a drop down box in the schematic field where you can select either symbol. You can actually have more than two different symbol choices.

    Hi,

I add the "|" at the database level. There is a field for the schematic symbol name. Are you able to access the database itself?

    Hi,

I tried to put the symbol "|"  in the database level but it does not work. It works if I put the "," (IE.CAP0603, CAP0603_Ver2). Thanks for your suggestion but it isn't exactly that i want.  The my problem is about  connectors.  For example:

For an connector of 10 pins, I create a multiple -part-package of 10 parts. I put this parts in the schematic, some in the page 1 and other in the page 3 o 4.  I would like to add one property that discriminate the IN or OUT for every pins. Is possibile this?

Hi Filo88,  Since each of the 10 heterogeneous symbol portions will have its own pin (1-thru-10) couldn’t you simply define the pin type (IN/OUT) for each one?

     Regards,   -lou
