Smart value CLR feature in CIP-E database

Hi all,

I wonder if someone has used the smart value CLR feature for CIP-E database? I can't find too much documentation and the CIP database installation fails when I select this feature during setup.

Someone knows what this feature actually supports? I assume it supports improved value search when the value field contains suffixes(uF, mohm etc), but I am not exactly sure.

    Hi Cantstandya,

You are right that there is not much documentation on Smart Value CLR feature however as far as I know it enables a smart search on values containing SI units (e.g. Mohm, pf).

This features doesn't impact the working on CIP however smart value queries as explained above won't be available if you don't select this option while installing CIP database.

    Thanks

    Thanks for answer!

Do you know where this search can be done after enabling, in CIP-E webinterface or in Orcad? Or is it only on SQL database level, such that we would need to make our own query towards the database to make use of this feature?
