Footprint Preview

Hi everyone,

I'm a newbie. It's the first time I use PCB Allegro.

I can't see the preview of any components, even Resistor or Capacitor.

And I don't know how to add library.

Please supporting me.

Thank you.

Try Place - Manually - then Advanced Settings tab and click on Library then on the Placement list tab change the dropdown to Package Symbols and you'll see a list of footprints. If you check the box next to one you'll see a preview in the bottom box. To add a library read:- orcad.co.uk/.../Defining_padpath_psmpath.pdf

    Hi Steve,

I was doing package preview by Place Manually, but for some reasons the pop up windows where you can set Advanced Setting does not show up anymore. How can I get it?

    thanks vadim

Go to your %HOME% location (normally C:\SPB_data but type %HOME% into the address bar of windows file explorer followed by a return) then go into the pcbenv folder and look for a file called allegro.ini and delete it. This stores the window positions. Now restart Allegro and you should be able to see the Window.
