Orcad/Allegro 17.2 HOTFIX S049 - .env file issues. Some macros wont load and run.

Hi guys.

So this is a little bizarre. I upgraded from S047 to S049 to test the newer functionality that got included in the S049 release. After the update my hot key assignments which are in my ,env file don't work correctly.
In particular two hot key assignments basically do nothing at all. It is like the keyboard is not getting recognized correctly by the Allegro. In testing my other hot keys work fine.

The two entries I have are

funckey CEnd  Shell notepad $localenv/env

funckey CHome 'source -q $localenv/env; echo ENV file reloaded'

In allegro they basically Open and then reload the .env file so I don't have to leave Allegro to actually edit the .env file.. Kind of cool and handy little macros..

I re installed twice and updated to S047 from the base release and then did the upgrade to S049 from S047. On both occasions and after reboots etc the result remains the same. Those two hot keys just wont work.
They work without issue in S047 and in prior releases too, never had an issue with them all along. I was testing both Orcad std and Orcad Pro S049 Release on Win 10.

Has anyone seen anything similar ?

Thanks

Paul.

    Yes, funckey are broken.

I've reported this issue already and hopefully Cadence will resolve this once and for all. Since HF32+ these funckey issues started and are still not resolved.

    Another issue with funckeys:

start new allegro instance, keep find filter open and do a commando (like 'show element'), then click on a find filter selection box.  Now none of the funckeys are working... so for example the default 'F6' (done) does not work anymore. By clicking on the menu area of Allegro the funckeys start to work again.

So simply, HF49 and funckeys are a no-go.

    HI B Bruekers,

i have the same problems with funckeys, with OrCAD PCB Designer Professional 17.2. Using Windows 7pro or Windows 8, the problems with funckeys remain !

In 16.6 version funckeys and keyboard work very well and fine. The 17.2 version has many new and excellent features, but is greatly affected by the difficulty of using the funckeys and keyboard.

Thanks to Steve for suggestion, but in my case not resolve the problem.

    REgards to all, Gianni.
