Capture and EDM Library install license error

Hi,

For orcad installs we setup our working directory on our network drive.

We decided to add EDM library to our orcad environment.,

Now when we are installing EDM or the Data Management Key  it notices that working files are on the networking so its defaults the location to that

After installing,  we have EDM tab in capture and everything works.

The problem we are running into that the desktop icon EDM when we try to launch it we t get his:

Now if  i uninstall the EDM key and try to reinstall and  change the destination to local drive C:

EDM tab disappears from the capture but desktop icon works for EDM dont get license error.

Im at a loss

help would be appreciated

The EDM Client script does not get installed into the product installation, it needs to go into the "cdssetup" location and have a specific directory structure from there. When you install on the network drive, the script gets added to your "cdssetup" remote location, and Capture finds it, but the Desktop application has some issues with "remote components", possibly related to network security and fails. When you install to the local drive, the EDM Client script is not found by Capture - since it is no longer in the "cdssetup" location - and you don't get the "tab". I would say that, if you copy the structure for the EDM Client script to your "live" "cdssetup" on the network drive the "tab" will re-appear and work. You can find the "live" "cdssetup" location from the Session Log when Capture starts and the script needs to go into "cdssetup"\OrCAD_Capture\<version>\tclscripts\capAutoLoad\EDMClient which needs the "runEDM.tcl" and the "EDM" folder contents within it to work.
