How to Disable visiblity of only Dynamic Copper shape

Hi,

I am using OrCAD PCB Designer 17.2 version. I have to make only the copper pour invisible(hide) and want to see only the routed tracks. If I disable the visibility of Etch for that layer on Color dialog box, both Tracks and Copper shapes are getting hidden. How to solve this issue, because while routing I don't want to see my copper pour.

I tried using the shape transparency(set it to low) in color dialog box, but that will leave the outline visible. I don't want to see any outline as well.

Kindly help me with this issue.

Regards,

Chadga

Close PCB Editor, open a windows file explorer window and type %HOME% into the address bar followed by a return. This opens your HOME directory. Go into the pcbenv folder and open the env file with a text editor and add the following entry set shape_layer_visibility_env into the section above ### User Preferences section then save and restart. You should now see a Shp checkbox in the visibility pane next to each layer.

Thanks Steve. It is working fine if I have a static solid shape in my board, but, for a dynamic copper pour the outline is still visible. Is there any other settings for this?

Hmm this just works for both static and dynamic shapes. Are you sure it's the shape outline that is showing and not another layer? Try turning all layers off then just an etch layer on, then toggle the Shp checkbox.

Yes Steve. I tried the same steps, it's still the same.

I have attached screenshots for your refrence, just to make sure if I am doing the steps right.

near Capacitor C4 there is a small static shape. that will turn-off, but for dynamic copper the outline remains. What might be the issue?

What hotfix are you using? I'm running 17.2-2016 S049 and it just works. The shapes at the top are dynamic and the on below the cline to the right is static.

I am using the same hotfix version S049. I think I got it, i tried turining off the boundary in color dialog box and it worked.

    Thanks for the quick response.
