Delay Tune does not work for inner signal layers in pcb Designer professional

Hi,

I'm using OrCAD pcb Designer professional version 17.2-2016 with Hotfix_SPB17.20.049. I tried to tune some traces to match them (data and control signals for a emmc, and I have already set the match group in constraint manager).

But it seems I can only tune traces on the top and bottom layers, not inner layers (I changed the options to inner signal after choose route->Delay tune. ) I'm wondering why I can not tune traces on the inner signal layers. Did I miss any setting, or is it a bug for version 17.2-2016?

By the way, I read that allegro 16.6 has Auto-interactive delay tune, but I did not find this option in pcb Designer professional version 17.2-2016, why?

Anybody knows about this, any reply is appreciate. Thank you in advance!

With best wishes

Mingyuexin

I guess anything could be possible but this does seem to be working fine for me, admittedly with hotfix 50, and I would have expected a common activity like Delay tuning to not have an issue.

The Auto-Interactive Delay Tune, for "any" version, needs an Allegro High-Speed Option license added to an Allegro PCB Designer license which is why this isn't available in the OrCAD products.

    Hi oldmouldy,

Thank you very much for the answer. I could not figure out why delay tune on the traces on the inner layer does not work for me.

I will update to hotfix 50 and try again.

    Thank you again.

I figured out that it was the gap setting for delay tune. The default setting was 1 gap, and it worked fine for top, bottom layers, but the gap was too large for the inner signal layers, I do not know where to change the gap setting for the inner signal layer. Anyway, I have changed the gap to 3Xwidth,  it works for the inner layers now too.
