How do we prevent black box 3D models for footprints?

Hello

We have some components on our PCB that has no step file associated because they are simply just pads. How do we prevent OrCAD from adding black boxes with the default comp height on the footprint in the 3D viewer?

Regards

    Piggybacking onto this post -

How do we keep the "black boxes" from showing up in the IDF or STEP output for components that have no STEP model associated with them?

For STEP models that can be done in the export dialog. For IDF try setting the default package height to 0...

You can add a property to the PLACE_BOUND shapes called IDF_EXCLUDE which stops the shape being exported to IDF.

So that is setting a user preference - try Edit - Properties then select the shape or shapes and add the property direct to the PLACE_BOUND shape. You will have to do this on a part by part basis.

Hey, couldn't this be a setting in the export tool instead?
