Prevent routing to shape on select nets

Is there an option to prevent a trace from connecting to shape of the same net? For instance, I would like to route a GND trace directly to the decoupling capacitor pad through a ground plane on the same layer. Then connect to an internal ground plane through another trace from the same pad.

I'm still struggling with this one. If I apply void_same_net to a single segment cline it works as expected. However, if it is a multi-segment cline that I routed (and has already been connected to the shape) I can't select the entire cline at once to set the property. If I set each segment individually (which is impractical) each segment is no longer connected to the shape but also not to each other. I'm stumped. What am I missing?

You can add this property to a cline or a cline seg, make sure the Find pane has both enabled then hover over the cline and press the TAB key to cycle through the available object types until the tooltip shows cline (the cline should highlight) then right click - Property Edit and choose void_same_net. This gets applied to the complete cline and you should get the result you need. Make sure you are also running the latest hotfix 17.2-2016 S052 (that's what I tried this on and t's working for me).

Hi Steve, thanks for that. I gave it a try and even though it shows cline it still only highlights the cline segment I hovered over. The cline segments no longer appear to be associated once they are routed over a shape.

If I remove the shape then it works as you said. I then move the shape back and the void is there. So I guess you can't do this with the shape already there?

It depends..... If the shape is already there and then you route the cline every time to click to add a corner this makes contact with the shape (same net so I wouldn't expect anything else) so adding the property only applies to the cline seg (because they are individual). It may be better to route first then add the shape or move the shape back afterwards...
