Generated .mkr file instead of .psm

I tried to checked-in my footprint to the database but the error says that no .psm file was found in the folder. When I checked my folder, it contains .mkr.

Been doing footprint for a while and used script to set-up my working environment. This means that I have not change any of my settings.

I created a new one, the same error pops up.

    Hi,

Not sure why you are getting *.mkd files. However, if you are missing *.psm files for your parts. They will never load into your design until you correct this situation. To correct this load the parts missing *psm back into the library editor. Once loaded in the editor just do a part save. The editor will write out the two files (*.psm and *.dra). Both files are required to allow you to load parts into the PCB editor.

    Hello Dale,

I read your note just now. I was able to generate a .psm by making the long name size to 255 because 31 was on my script. But out of curiosity, I revert to 31 and generate new footprint with filename size the same as the last one and it generated .psm.

I reported the issue to Cadence support but have not replied on that one yet.

I cannot make the action taken to be the solution but for now, my problem did not came back.

Thanks for the reply and I will add that to my potential solution list.

    Best regards,
