Allegro 17.2: Logo Creation

AMMU CV
AMMU CV over 6 years ago

Hi Team,

I am trying to create the company logo by importing the .bmp file via File-->import-->Logo.  (Mechanical Symbol: Board Geometry-->Silk Screen Top)

But in this method of import the logo creation is not proper.

Does anyone knows any other method for creating proper logo?

Please share me the proper procedure.

I am here with attaching the .bmp file.

Thanks

I have not been very successful in creating logos this way. .BMP's are not well suited for translating into Gerber. Instead, I always ask for a .DXF (AutoCAD or one of the free alternatives). That .DXF can then be manipulated into (closed) polylines which can be turned into filled shapes. One other advantage of using a mech-cad software in-between is that a lot of debris in the .DXF can be deleted. leaving only the drawing elements left for processing. Once a clean .DXF is available, it can be scaled into proper size and imported into Allegro.

There are some utilities out there that can convert BMP to DXF. Last time I tried one of them, the capacity was limited and the result not satisfactory but you may want to try it.

    Just an idead:

I have not tried the import in 17.2, but in 16.6 with logomakerthe vmp needed to be monochrome bmp.

Try converting your logo to a monochrome bmpand see if this helps?

Colour logos, especially with shading, are never going to import well. My LogoMaker utility will import these but the result is ugly.
