color -toggle display problem

Greetings -

I have several ".color" files I use to quickly change views in Allegro.  When I go to the "view" pull down in the visibility tab I can select them and toggle class/sub-classes on and off quickly. (see below for contents of and example .color file.)

Something changed recently and now when I pick one of these views from the pull down, the relevant sub-classes display on the screen for about 1/2 a second and then disappear.  Picking the view a second time results the sub-classes displaying properly.  In other words, in order for the display to work correctly, I have to pick the view twice in a row.

I have a feeling a recent change to a user parameter upset this behavior but I can't seem to find which on it is as this was all working fine until a week or two ago.  Any ideas would be appreciated.  I'm running Allegro 17.2-2016 with Concept/HDL.

my .color files all look something like this:

#  View replacement method:

#  Partial with toggle

color -toggle "PACKAGE GEOMETRY/ASSEMBLY_TOP"

setwindow pcb

Thanks!

Hi, I'm not sure what's going on. But, I suspect the switch you have on "Partial with toggle"  seen in your file may be causing the problem. The following is a text file that contains graphics that I would turn on via one of my hotkey assignment. I'd push a button and presto. Works every time instantly. Note, in my file,  "Partial with toggle" is replaced with "Complete". I created the file by setting up the graphics display first. Then I exported to a file thru menu- "Display/ View/ Color View Save". Turn on "Complete" also. I'm not sure how you made your file. But, it's definitely different than mine for sure.

    # View replacement method:
    # Complete

    color -globvis off
    color -vis "BOARD GEOMETRY/OUTLINE"
    color -vis "PACKAGE GEOMETRY/ASSEMBLY_TOP"
    color -vis "REF DES/ASSEMBLY_TOP"

I thought I was going crazy but I'm seeing the same thing.  Partial toggle for flipping DXF layers off and on that I've used for years, now flashes the layer the first time.  After the second attempt it stays.

Something changed in one of the last hotfixes.

I'm glad I'm not the only one seeing this.  The partial toggle option is nice because it allows you to toggle certain layers on and off without affecting other displayed layers.  Like Joewi points out it is great for toggling .DXF layers on and off.

Having said that, I put the "color -toggle 'PACKAGE GEOMETRY/ASSEMBLY_TOP'" into a funckey command in my .env file to make a hotkey out of it like Dale did with his views and it now works fine!

As jowei suggests - maybe this is a hot-fix problem. My Allegro hot-fixes are installed and managed in a remote location and I don't always get a warning when they happen.  This could even a Windows problem...come tho think of it, a Windows update came through a week or two ago.

Anyway, for now, I think I have a solution...thank guys!
