How many Vias can be placed in the same location?

I am attempting to place microvias and buried vias on the same XY locations. As these will be constructed at different times in the manufacturing process. But The vias do not appear to connect properly.

Can anyone suggest if this is possible?

Or do I have to create a complex single via to provide the Buried and double microvia as a single stack?

No issue with placing at same location.  They will only connect if you have pads on the connecting layers..

However, be aware that fabricating a microvia over a buried usually results in cracking over time so it is not recommended.  Some fabricators refuse to build this construction and require an offset (aka dogbone) on the microvia-buried layer.

When I tried it, I keep getting a cross showing that the via's did not connect properly.

Can you post an example - a BRD file would be the best.  Not sure what is set up wrong on your board but the tool does allow via on top of via to build a sequential lamination as you are trying to do.

Sorry, Company policy means I am unable to post such items.

I was going to use dogboning on layers 2,3, 10 and 11. As the two buried microvias would be offset  and above each other also (L2-L3 and L10-L11).

Can you share a board having a simple rectangle outline and a netlist having testpoints connected together?

Just need your stackup and via configs.
