Local Library Creation

Hello,

I have a couple of questions:

1)    How can I create a local library in Cadence? Can you please send instructions on how to accomplish this?

2)    Once I have created said local library, how can I export this to other people in my group?

Thank you for your time

Cadence is a company, not a software product :).

    Which tool are you using?

I am using Cadence. Allegro Cadence allows component libraries.

OK, so I've moved your post to the PCB design group where you're more likely to get an answer, you had posted to the functional verification group, which is not related to Allegro users.

    Under Setup/User Preferences/Paths there's a preference for 'Library'.

In there, under PADPATH and PSMPATH you can set those for your 'local' library.

Mine normally starts with a '.' (Dot); for a library at the .brd (design) folder.

Next I have a ./symbols (for a library under the 'symbols' folder at the project level. This is normally where I'd store both my footprint symbols and the padstacks, specific for that design.

Be aware - these are based on priority: with '.' being first, ./symbols being 2nd and the rest of the libraries after those. That way when I do a refresh (if I change a part locally), it will refresh from 'my' folders first.

    Good day.

    Hello,

I am using Allegro, (Cadence ADW). I do not see the first button for setup/user preferences/paths... can you please provide a screenshot?
