creating layer views in artwork control form

For what feels like 100 years I've been creating drawings, temporary views, dxf exports, etc. using the artwork control form. I've always exported gerbers manually and never had any issues. We want to transition to ODB++ (I know, late to the party). Anyway, I don't want my drawings or other junk included in the ODB++ export so they can't be in the control form as a film. I am aware of color views, but I don't like the idea of dragging around a bunch of text files with my .brd. There has to be a better way. If not Cadence needs to fix it.

Cadence added the film domain functionality in 16.6, which allows output selection for artwork, ipc2581, pdf & visiblity control

The skill code supplied with the ODB++ Inside has never been updated to support this, so it outputs all artwork film records

I have modified my local copy of that skill code & am attempting to get it back to the developers at Valor/Mentor...

There is a user preference for this, Setup - User Preferences - Paths - Config - Viewpath, set this to a network location and put all your color view files here, they will then be available for all designs.

I have a good number of 'additional reference layers/views' in my artwork control form, and don't have problems with ODB++. I've been using ODB++ for 6-8 years now, and no questions. The only one that gets confused is the engineer that mistakenly turns on all layers, and asks me to delete what's not necessary. I shoo them away.  :)  Good day.

I sent the attached skill file to  odbinside@mentor.com, but who knows how long it will take for them to release a new version

You might be a little better off sending it to Cadence. Mentor (odbinside@mentor.com) probably won't respond.  Slight smile

    Good day.
