moving objects to a different layer

hello

is there any way to move an object to a different layer in one action?

i am currently using Z-copy to copy an object to a different layer and deleting the original object.

i would like to do this in one action (move) instead of two actions (copy and delete).

You are kidding, right? With 17.2 (maybe earlier), you can hover over the element, RMB and change sublass/class to your liking. Isn't that easy???? You didn't know that?

Some times with shapes it's not that easy, but you can select the shape, copy it to another layer, and delete the layer you had it on. Still easy, right?

The trick with Allegro is growing comfortable with verb/noun functions, or noun/verb functions. I'm old school, so I like to pick the action first from the pulldowns (say 'move' to do a lot of move funtions), verses 'hover over/RMB' actions. If I'm doing something quickly I'll tend to do hover over/RMB action. But if I'm moving a bunch of things at one time, I pull down 'move' and move a bunch of elements around, then continue on. It's all a part of what YOU become comfortable with.
