Auto Incrementation of Instances' Locations

Hello,

I am a beginner using Allegro Design Entry HDL V17.2-2016 and I am trying to create a schematic including 40 instances of a group of 10 components (400 components in total).

As I tried to copy-paste one of the instance fourty times, I faced an issue during the physical export telling me that all the instances of every component had the same location and that it was obviously causing an issue.

I know I could edit manually all of the 400 components' locations but I'm also convinced Cadence includes some way to auto-increase the location of the components as I copy-paste them.

I saw a few things online, for instance $LOCATION=R? or a "Ref Des Pattern", but I did not find clear information on how to use them.

So, is there an easy way included in Cadence to auto-increase the name/location of the components and if so, how to use it ?

Best regards,

Aymeric Ferrand
