VIA selection for Automatic Router

Hi,

I am using the Autorouter and by setting the constraint of Min Line Width inside CM I can control the width of the trace for a specific Net, but how can I control what VIA a specific Net shall use? I am trying to set it inside the CM but it keeps using the VIA it had pre-selected before.

Also is it possible to define a certain Net should have pass with for example 3 Vias?

Thanks.

In CM where you enter the mIn LIne Width (So Physical - Physical Constraint Set - All Layers) pick the rule you have and left click on the Vias cell which opens up the Via List window, pick the via you want from the list on the left which moves it to the via list on the right. You can have many in the list. The one at the top is the default one to be used but you can choose as you route which one you want from the Options pane (or Working Layer Mode).

Not sure what you mean about rule but I go to CM - Physical - Net - All layers. Then for the specific Net I am changing the VIA column as you say to the VIA I want that net to use. Then when I am routing manually it uses the correct VIA. But whan I am running the Route - PCB Router (Auto router) it still using the VIA set as the default one for the rest of the nets.

I also tried to create a CSet for this specific Net and in CM - Physical Constraint Set - All Layers I set the correct VIA I want to use in "Vias" column. But still the Net uses the old VIA.

This could well be license related. I think you may need to make sure you have the PCB Autorouting option which includes vias by net and Netclass. What License are you running ?

I am running Allegro PCB Router v17-2-51. How to see what functionality is included in what license?
