Deleting layers on a board with laser vias and core vias.

If I have a 12 layer board with 1-2 2-3 3-4 laser vias 4-9 core via and 9-10 10-11 and 11 to 12 laser vias , if I delete layers 6 and 7 what does the software do to the laser and core vias  ?

    Hi. The vias are still intact, and the database will show connectivity. It's just the via names won't make sense with regards to the cross-section any longer. What I normally do when I run into this is: 1) edit the core vias and save it with the corrected name; and then 'replace' all the existing core vias with this new via. - 2) do the same with the laser vias from the backside of the board. That way the database will make sense to someone that might happen to re-use your design. It's easy. Little tedious, but keeps things rational. Good day.
