CIP in Orcad 17.4

I have installed Orcad 17.4 and is currently learning the new feature with this update.

However I am unable to open CIP in orcad. CIS works okay.

To open CIP I have to open it in my internet browser and I would like to open it in orcad like my 17.2 version.

One more thing anyone in the UK noticed that RS components have disappeared from distributor search

Is there any one out there having the same sort of difficulties as I am

RS components not to support the link that CIP uses.  EMA has no way of working past that for any distributor (Digikey and Mouser changes kept breaking things and CIP had to adapt.)

I would recommend just copying your 17.2 Capture.ini file to your 17.4 directory

INI File Location for 17.4:  %HOME%\cdssetup\OrCAD_Capture/17.4.0/Capture.ini

INI File Location for 17.2:  %HOME%\cdssetup\OrCAD_Capture/17.2.0/Capture.ini

In the 17.4 Capture.INI config file, verify that you have this or you will be blocked from pulling new symbols for CIS parts:

    [Part Library Directories]
    Dir0=C:\svn\Hardware\Libraries\orcad

The CIP plugin you mention is a Tcl plugin.  Those are not launched from the Capture.INI file.

Download the installer from the CIP web page and run it again.  It might be aware of the new 17.4 location.

(sorry, new machine at home on a Sunday and they installed everything but the VPN...)

Thank you RFinley I still have the 17.2 install directory so I copied the CIPClient Directory from

    D:/Cadence/SPB-17.2/tools/capture/tclscripts/capAutoLoad

    and put it in D:/Cadence/SPB-17.4/tools/capture/tclscripts/capAutoLoad

    and it worked a treat

    once again thank you
